Join the City of Vancouver as a GIS Programmer, where you’ll play a key role in Urban Forestry initiatives. Combine your programming expertise with GIS knowledge to enhance public services.
This position supports the Urban Forestry Division by developing and maintaining essential asset management software. Utilizing a variety of programming platforms, your work will significantly improve city infrastructure and service delivery. You will engage in all software phases, including analysis, development, testing, and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement GIS solutions based on complex requirements
• Coordinate program development and integration across teams
• Lead execution of testing and software rollouts
• Create precise technical documentation for users and operations
• Offer training and mentorship to junior staff
Requirements:
• Two-year diploma in Computer Systems Technologies or equivalent
• Strong background in GIS, ArcGIS, and web development
• Proficient with .NET technologies and SQL databases
• Familiarity with API design and integration practices
• Effective communication and analytical skills
