Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Architect to join our growing team in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Java backend development, architecture, and coding, along with proven experience in the Retail/E-commerce domain . This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep knowledge of microservices, cloud technologies, and modern Dev Ops practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java technologies.
- Architect and build microservices-based solutions leveraging Spring Boot and cloud-native principles.
- Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
- Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring best practices in software engineering.
- Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
- Drive CI/CD implementation and Dev Ops automation initiatives.
- Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
- Mentor and guide junior developers and participate in code reviews.
Required Skill
- 15+ years of experience in Java backend development and architecture.
- Strong hands-on coding experience in Java/J2EE.
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, REST APIs .
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services .
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines , Dev Ops tools, and automation practices.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-driven platforms.
- Strong database experience with SQL and No
SQL technologies. - Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Domain Experience
- Mandatory experience in Retail, E-commerce, Commerce, or Omni-channel environments .
- Understanding of retail platforms, order management, inventory, payments, pricing, promotions, and customer journeys is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud-native architecture patterns and modern software engineering practices.
