Systems Software Engineer - EA SPORTS FC

About the Role  The role helps push the primary systems and shared engine into the future. The team maintains a broad view of game and engine systems and seeks improvements to performance, utility, and capabilities for players, as well as workflow enhancements for the development team. The role involves prototyping, planning, and collaborating with other engineers to build systems, workflows, and capabilities that improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities   Work with design and other engineers to provide feedback and create clear, estimable technical designs.
Provide tested and high-quality technical implementations that meet requirements.
Maintain awareness of how technical implementation impacts performance and memory budgets.
Look for ways to increase team efficiency through tooling or workflow enhancements.
Contribute to core EA technologies in an architecturally sound way to promote collaborative development efforts.
Required Experience & Qualifications   

Experience with the development craft and interest in systems-level work.
Understanding of C++ language, best practices, and architectural considerations.
Ability to communicate well with non-technical partners, such as Artists, Designers, and Producers.

Experience with parallel programming considerations, resource management, and hardware architecture.
Experience in engine development.
5+ years of programming experience with a focus on C++ code.

Experience with performance and memory profiling tools.
Experience in embedded systems.
Passion for prototyping and planning, collaborating with other engineers, and building systems.
Workplace   Hybrid working model: 3 days per week in the EAV Studio in Burnaby, British Columbia (Tuesday to Thursday).
Salary   The listed range is what EA in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in these locations at the time of this posting.
Pay offered will be determined based on relevant business and candidate factors (e.g. education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, or business needs).
Applicants residing in a different location will be advised by a recruiter on the applicable range and benefits.
Pay is just one part of the overall compensation efits & Perks   Vacation: 3 weeks per year to start.
Sick time: 10 days per year.
