Build EA SPORTS FC gameplay systems with C++ and object-oriented design in a hybrid environment at Electronic Arts. See code changes quickly on the virtual pitch.
As a Gameplay Software Engineer, you will bring artists’ and designers’ visions to life through gameplay code. You will prototype mechanics, design technical systems, and develop tools using a proprietary engine. The team works at the core of EA SPORTS FC’s user experience, with gameplay engineers contributing substantially to implementation details and design.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and write code controlling EA SPORTS FC gameplay
- Prototype mechanics to prove and improve designs
- Create technical designs for gameplay systems
- Develop tools and workflows for new game features
- Interface shareable code correctly with the proprietary engine
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training and professional experience
- Proficiency with C++ and object-oriented implementation
- Experience architecting AI, character control, or multiplayer systems
- Knowledge of sound software programming practices
- Understanding of multithreading, synchronization, debugging, and performance improvement
