Build OLAP and OLTP storage systems for Grafana’s general purpose data platform as a Senior Database Engineer working remotely. Shape scalable data infrastructure.
This senior role focuses on database systems spanning ingestion, query planning, distributed execution, and storage formats. You will help develop a multi-tenant SaaS foundation that separates compute from storage across cloud providers. The work supports analytics queries and freshly stored data.
Key Responsibilities:- Design and implement database ingestion and query planning
- Build distributed query execution and storage formats
- Define tenant isolation, quotas, and usage tracking
- Operate services with metrics, logs, traces, and alerts
- Shape architecture, APIs, and deployment patterns
- Mastery of Golang, C++, or Rust
- Experience building production-grade user-facing software systems
- Experience with distributed systems and query engines
- Experience with catalogs and table formats
- Cloud-native experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure
