Join the Meals on Wheels team as a Volunteer Driver and help deliver compassion alongside nutritious meals. Support seniors living independently in the Downtown Eastside.
As a Volunteer Driver, you’ll provide essential meal deliveries and friendly check-ins for isolated seniors. This role requires just two hours a week on weekdays, making it an easy way to make a significant impact in your community. Our team is here to guide you, ensuring you feel prepared through shadowing experienced volunteers before heading out.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver prepared meals to seniors each week
• Engage clients with warm conversation and wellness checks
• Participate in orientation shifts to learn delivery routes
• Report any concerns to the Meals on Wheels staff
• Maintain a friendly and supportive demeanor during visits
Requirements:
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, patient, and dependable nature
• Criminal record check clearance required
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccinations needed
