  • Ensure all replacement parts are inspected and properly certified prior to installation.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough maintenance records, defect reports, and technical logs.
  • Participate in Summit Air's SMS and Quality Assurance programs.
  • Mentor apprentice AMEs and junior technicians where applicable.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in the hangar and on the line.
  • Support the Maintenance Controller in planning and scheduling maintenance activities.

  • Strong working knowledge of aircraft systems, including airframes, powerplants, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and environmental systems.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and work from maintenance manuals, airworthiness directives, and technical documentation.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Self‑motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote or rotational environment.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
Preferred
  • Experience on multi‑engine aircraft types, particularly the Avro RJ, ATR, Dash 8 (DHC‑8), or Dornier 228 (D228).
  • Canadian Armed Forces aviation technician (or equivalent) background; military‑equivalent credentials are welcomed.
  • Experience working in northern, remote, or rotational aviation environments.
  • Corrosion control experience and knowledge.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience and licence category.
  • Annual profit‑sharing bonuses aligned with individual and organisational success.
  • Rating premiums and shift premiums where applicable.
  • Comprehensive benefits from date of hire: extended health, dental, vision, prescription drugs, life insurance, and short‑ and long‑term disability.
  • RRSP/pension matching programme.
  • Paid travel, accommodation, and per diem for all rotational employees fully company‑funded.
  • Uniform, outerwear, and required PPE provided.
  • Type training and ongoing endorsement opportunities.
Career Development & Training
  • Type training on new aircraft types as they are introduced to the fleet.
  • Internal mentorship and knowledge‑sharing from experienced engineers.
  • A genuine pathway to Crew Chief and supervisory roles for high performers.
  • A safety culture that treats every team member's input as valuable.
