Shipping Coordinator
Role SummaryAs part of our ongoing development, we are looking for an experienced shipping coordinator to join our Operations and Logistics team.
Job duties / responsibilities- Coordinate vessel loading and discharging operations at ports in the USA and Canada.
- Communicate with charterers, shippers, brokers, port agents, port authorities, ship’s Master and crew, stevedores, and other service providers to support smooth cargo operations.
- Arrange bunkers, port services, and operational requirements according to voyage instructions and charter party terms.
- Prepare laytime calculations, statements of facts, and hire-related documentation.
- Monitor vessel operations, including cargo progress, speed, and fuel consumption, and report issues as required.
- Track voyage-related expenses and support cost‑control and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Coordinate vessel inspections, cargo hold cleaning, and cargo readiness prior to loading.
- Assist with cargo quantity calculations and monitor cargo handling activities.
- Record and follow up on stevedore and cargo damage incidents and support related claims.
- Maintain regular communication with customers’ operations teams to ensure transportation activities meet contractual and operational requirements.
- Bachelors’ degree in shipping or equivalent business degree;
- Reliable team player, able and willing to work across time zones;
- Ability to communicate well with people and industry which will vessel Masters, inclusive of daily operational matters, voyage instructions, and charterer’s requirements;
- English language proficiency is essential, with knowledge of other languages an asset;
- Customer focused with strong analytical skills;
- Energy and creativity in a fast paced and ever changing environment;
- Keen eye for detail and self‑driven.
- You are detail‑orientated, good communication skill;
- Candidates are eligible to work in Canada.

Wages$77,000 annually, full time, permanent position - 40 hours per week

Employees are required to participate in the Canadian Pension Scheme in accordance with Canadian Pension regulations. - Travel Insurance:
Employees will be covered under the Company’s travel insurance scheme for business‑related travel. - Life Insurance:
Employees will be covered by the Company’s life insurance scheme up to the age of 70. In the unfortunate event of an employee’s death while in service, a lump sum of thirty‑six times their monthly salary, or the insured sum agreed by the insurer, will be payable to the designated beneficiary(ies), subject to the terms and conditions of the Life Insurance Policy.
