Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Transportation Coordination
  • Coordinate and schedule export, import, and empty container deliveries to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between customers, steamship lines, ports, depots, and CN terminals.
  • Ensure all shipments are delivered within vessel receiving windows and established timelines.
  • Proactively communicate shipment updates and service changes to customers and stakeholders.
  • Reschedule deliveries as needed due to service disruptions, delays, or operational exceptions.
  • Track and trace container movements, providing visibility and updates throughout the transportation process.
  • Maintain operational metrics and service performance data.
Internal Operations Coordination
  • Source empty containers from depots and port facilities to support export bookings.
  • Work closely with dispatch and CN terminals to coordinate transportation activities and container movements.
  • Forecast equipment and driver requirements to support daily operations.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, import, and dispatch teams to ensure seamless shipment execution.
  • Monitor container arrivals and oversee the movement of containers between terminals, depots, and ports.
  • Support efficient transportation planning by providing dispatch teams with advance shipment information.
Port Reservation Management & Delivery Scheduling
  • Secure port terminal appointments and reservations.
  • Schedule deliveries to transload facilities while meeting vessel cut-off deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with terminal requirements and reservation schedules.
  • Communicate scheduling updates to customers, dispatch teams, terminals, and transportation partners.
Invoicing & Accounts Payable
  • Prepare and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review and approve invoices from third-party transportation providers.
  • Process accounts payable transactions with a high level of accuracy.
  • Verify costs, service details, and supporting documentation before billing.
  • Maintain accurate records and data entry for invoicing, reporting, and operational tracking.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry.
  • Experience in ocean freight, container logistics, intermodal transportation, or supply chain operations is strongly preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and practical experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • CIFFA or CITT certification is considered an asset.
  • Equivalent education and industry experience will be considered.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision‑making abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry practices and procedures.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working with transportation management and scheduling systems.
  • Knowledge of Vancouver Port terminal reservation systems is a strong asset.
  • Ability to accurately process operational data, invoicing, and reporting requirements.
  • Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
