Requirements
Master Limited 60 Ton
Domestic Vessel Safety (Formerly MED A1/A2)
Restricted Operator Certificate for Maritime Radio (ROC-M or ROC-MC)
Marine Basic First Aid
Preference Given To
Master, Limited under 60 GT (60T Ticket) valid in Vancouver Harbour, Howe Sound and Vancouver Island (Victoria to Nanaimo)
Experience operating jet propulsion vessels
Candidates with strong communication, supervisory, interpersonal and leadership skills
Essential Responsibilities
Ensure the vessel crew meets Mercury Transport Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and follows safe operating procedures
Interacts closely with crew and management and manages the day-to-day operation of vessel and crew
Communicates with shore-based team to promote efficiency and safety in the entire operation
May perform other duties including operating heavy machinery as required
Work Conditions
This will be a rotational position with a schedule of either 1 week on, 1 week off
Working outdoors in various weather conditions
