Salary range (but not limited to): 118,
Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance): 15%

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to the role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35‑hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

We’re looking for a Specialist, Marine to join our growing Coast Underwriters team!
What you’ll do here:- Support the strategic product development plan to achieve growth targets.
- Develop guidelines, authority statements and manage the referral process to support performance and underwriting.
- Gather market intelligence by working directly with distribution, brokers and customers and compare Intact’s product offering to the competition.
- Research technology-based solutions for pricing, underwriting, risk assessment and loss mitigation opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to explore new growth and profitability opportunities through technical research and relationship building.
- Assist in portfolio management through governance best practices, profitability and growth analysis.
- Perform technical underwriting audit.
- Communicate changes related underwriting guidelines and new products.
- Provide underwriting training, lending expertise to colleagues and distribution underwriters.
- University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Minimum 8 years of marine insurance experience. Underwriting experience is a plus.
- Highly organized, with the ability to work towards goals while adapting to change in a fast paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to persuade as well as challenge others.
- Can deal effectively and respectfully with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Self‑starter with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with national departmental teams.
- Effective analytical, negotiating and decision‑making skills.
