We’re looking for a detail-oriented Junior Property Accountant to support the accounting functions for a portfolio of client-owned multifamily properties. This is a great opportunity for someone with foundational accounting experience who wants to continue developing their skills, gain exposure to property accounting, and eventually take ownership of a dedicated portfolio.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations for assigned accounts
  • Review and process resident move-outs in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Prepare move-out refunds and related correspondence
  • Review and verify invoices and check requests for accuracy
  • Process electronic payments and accounts payable checks
  • Support accounts receivable activities
  • Assist with annual 1099 preparation, mailing, and filing
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, residents, vendors, and internal team members
  • Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and accounting projects
  • As you become fully trained, manage full-cycle accounting for a dedicated portfolio of properties
What We’re Looking For
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfortable working with numbers, reconciliations, and financial documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with an accounting team
  • Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility

Previous accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, or property management accounting experience is preferred.

Why This Role?

This position offers the opportunity to build hands-on accounting experience while learning the financial operations behind multifamily property management. As your knowledge and experience grow, you’ll have the opportunity to take greater ownership of property accounting and manage a dedicated portfolio.
