Description Build, Transform, and Modernize Dental Healthcare Facilities Across Multiple Markets

At Inter Dent, we're committed to creating exceptional environments where dental professionals can deliver high-quality patient care. As one of the nation's leading dental support organizations, we support a growing network of Gentle Dental and affiliated practices across multiple states.

We're seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Construction) to lead construction, renovation, and facility improvement projects across our portfolio. This highly visible role offers the opportunity to manage diverse projects, collaborate with senior leadership, and directly impact the facilities that support our doctors, teams, and patients.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Vice President of Facilities, you'll oversee multiple construction and capital improvement projects across our multi-state dental practice network.

You’ll manage projects from planning and design through construction, occupancy, and closeout, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and established quality standards. Success requires a proactive leader who can independently manage priorities, solve challenges, and build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.

What You'll Do
  • Lead multiple projects across various markets, including new dental office openings, tenant improvements, remodels, relocations, and facility closures.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, budgeting, permitting, construction, equipment installation, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, scopes of work, and resources to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Oversee general contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors, ensuring accountability for quality, cost, and performance.
  • Review construction documents, proposals, contracts, estimates, and change orders.
  • Proactively identify risks, resolve challenges, and elevate critical issues with recommended solutions.
  • Lead project status meetings, communicate progress to stakeholders, and ensure successful inspections, punch-list completion, and project closeout.
Facilities & Equipment Management
  • Partner with Facilities and Operations to coordinate dental equipment installation, replacement, repairs, and relocations.
  • Support equipment purchasing, vendor relationships, storage, and transportation logistics.
  • Coordinate facility requirements for digital technology conversions and equipment upgrades.
  • Provide vendor coordination and project support for urgent facility needs and emergencies.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Facilities, Real Estate, Operations, clinical leadership, and external construction partners.
  • Build strong relationships with doctors, practice managers, regional leaders, and vendors to deliver effective solutions.
  • Negotiate with contractors and vendors to optimize project costs, schedules, and outcomes.
  • Communicate project expectations and progress while minimizing disruption to patient care and daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, permitting requirements, safety standards, and organizational policies.
What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • 8–10 years of experience in construction management, commercial tenant improvements, project management, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience and education considered.
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple construction projects across locations or geographic markets.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, building systems, construction documents, budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management.
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept through completion while maintaining cost, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel up to 75% across multiple markets.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with healthcare, dental, medical, retail, or other multi-site commercial construction projects.
  • Familiarity with dental or medical equipment installation and facility requirements.
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar project management tools.
  • Strong contract administration, vendor management, and stakeholder relationship skills.
