Interim Clinical Nurse Educator, Labor & Delivery

Healthcare Executive Placements, Inc. (HCEPInc) is seeking an Interim Clinical Nurse Educator, Labor & Delivery, for a W2 Contract position based in San Diego, CA.

Schedule: Full time, Day shift, Monday through Friday, 5 8's

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks with high likelihood of extending

This position offers a daily rate of $585 to $600 which equates to $2,925 to $3,000 per week (based on a 5-day workweek)

Per Diems:
Lodging: $199 per day and Meals & Incidentals: $86 per day

Per diems are paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $1,995 per week

Auto Stipend: $25 per day

Stipend is paid daily, 7 days a week, totaling $175 per week

Total Weekly Compensation (Daily Rate + Per Diems + Stipend): Between $5,095 to $5,170 per week

Summary:

This position develops and delivers clinical educational programs within the L&D specialty—covering specialty training, new graduate/hire onboarding, continuing education for staff, and ensuring clinical competency and regulatory compliance.

Essential Functions:

Designs, develops, and delivers educational programs in the L&D area, including training, competency validation, and continuing education.

Coordinates with clinical leaders and stakeholders to assess learning needs, develop curricula, and implement training strategies.

Monitors educational outcomes, evaluates effectiveness of programs, and adjusts as needed to ensure high-quality and compliant nursing practice.

Serves as a resource and partner for nursing staff, facilitating orientation and ongoing development in the L&D clinical environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

Active CA RN License required.

Three or more years of specialty experience, with at least one year functioning in an educator or clinical resource capacity.

NRP and BLS Certifications required.
