Job Overview

Clark College is currently accepting applications for a part‑time Environmental Science Professor. Applicants must be willing to teach during the summer (in addition to other terms) and both online and in person. Lecture rate is $93.18 and lab rate is $79.59.

This part‑time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year‑round. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

Position Responsibilities
  • Instruct classes in Environmental Science utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Provide appropriate means to assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and other educational partners to create unique learning opportunities at Clark College.
  • Participate in program, curriculum development and assessment activities.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in Environmental Science or a closely related science field (with significant graduate coursework in environmental science).
  • Teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

  • Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted, which includes a sexual misconduct background check as required under RCW 28B.112.080. Completion of academic degrees will be verified through receipt of official transcripts. Also, a Vocational Certification plan must be in place prior to the first day of classes as required by WAC 131‑16‑070 through 131‑16‑094.
