Position Responsibilities

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decision‑making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Pursue professional development.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.

POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct classes in FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW welding, safety, oxy/fuel, plasma cutting, and safe equipment use.
  • Instruct classes on press‑brake operation and theories, pipe rolling, and tube bending.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND

COMPETENCIES:

  • Five (5) years of experience working within the welding/fabrication industry to include any accredited training in welding/fabrication, or related field.
  • Two (2) years of teaching and/or training experience in a learning environment.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office suite;
    Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Supervisory experience of industrial workers or faculty; to include employee/faculty hiring, evaluations and/or training.
  • Experience in all processes with mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand and move around shop for extensive time periods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
  • Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
Supplemental Information

SALARY STATEMENT: Lecture hourly rate is $93.18, and lab hourly rate is $79.59.
