Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
  • Washington State Teaching Certificate
  • Classroom teaching experience, including inclusionary practices
  • Experience teaching bicycling or other healthy activities to youth
  • Effective communication skills in person and on the phone with students, families, staff, community partners, and the public
  • Ability to schedule, coordinate, and maintain reports for the Cycling Program
  • Accurate record-keeping of program data and performance
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with PC platforms, Microsoft Office, and GSuite
  • Ability to prioritize and work collaboratively in a dynamic environment
  • Commitment to educational equity
  • Passion for youth development and enrichment, especially for ages 8-14
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all seasons

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in multicultural education and community building
  • Experience teaching new bike riders with risk management focus
  • Bike maintenance skills
  • Ability to lead professional development, especially bike trainings on equity and risk management
  • Public speaking and advocacy experience
  • Program management skills, including budgeting and grant reporting

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with Cascade Bicycle Club staff on program goals

  • Create and manage bicycle program schedules and logistics
  • Manage contracts and track program outcomes and budgets
  • Procure equipment and maintain bicycles and trailers
  • Support in-class lessons and provide program support as needed
  • Maintain inventory and respond to material requests
  • Collect and analyze program data for decision making and growth
  • Ensure curriculum relevance and quality
  • Attend regularly to fulfill duties and achieve program goals

The district reserves the right to transfer and assign employees as needed.

Benefits/Compensation:

  • Salary range: $64,498 - $121,573, based on FTE, credentials, and experience. Salary schedules available here.
  • Additional pay provisions may include professional development, extended days, and supplemental days, as detailed in the VEA CBA.
