Electrical Engineer

Overview

Join AZAD as an Electrical Engineer. This role provides technical leadership for substation projects across the scoping, design, construction and closeout phases. Project engineers collaborate with planning engineers, asset/program managers, project managers and contracting officers/CORs, serving as the link between scoping and design teams. They provide primary leadership during the scoping phase, offer consulting services to Transmission Planning and other organizations for what-if analyses and feasibility studies in planning phases, and provide technical leadership during design and construction phases.

This is a 2 year plus consultant position with high probability of long term and ongoing continued employment. This position is hybrid in Vancouver, WA with onsite 1-2 days weekly.

The hourly pay rate range for this position (which includes a health and welfare fringe benefit of $4.93) is $63.00 - $72.00 depending on related qualifications and experience, as well as composition of selected compensation package.

• Provide technical leadership for substation projects across scoping, design, construction and closeout phases.
• Work closely with planning engineers, asset/program managers, project managers and contracting officers/CORs; serve as the link between scoping/design teams.
• Hold primary leadership roles during the scoping phase and provide consulting services for what-if analyses and feasibility studies in planning phases.
• Provide technical leadership during the design phase and assist in resolving technical problems, disagreements and scope changes; provide support during the construction phase.

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
• With an applicable Bachelor's degree, 10 years of experience is required.
• Experience should include project management experience related to High Voltage Substation, Telecommunication systems, or high voltage transmission line systems.
• 3 years of working knowledge of High voltage systems, System Control, Communications, Relay planning, functional and technical specifications in a typical electric power system.
• Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.
• First Aid/AED/CPR Certification required within 30 days of assignment start; worker/employer is responsible for maintaining current certification.

• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
