Pay Range - $105k to $152k per year (Actual base pay based on factors such as relevant experience, education, market, qualifications, and skills)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Works with hardware and software to develop and improve capabilities for communication and control with instrumentation and database systems. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability, and safety. Adapts or writes software to improve communication and data usage. Collaborates heavily with internal engineering and manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers, and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.
Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
REQUIREMENTS
B.S. Electrical Engineering or another closely related discipline,
10+ years' experience with software for control and/or communication, such as Programmable Logic Control (PLC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, or SQL. An ability to code in one or more common programming languages (e.g., C, C#, C++, Python, VBA, HTML) used in engineering practice is expected.
Ability to set up SQL databases to capture data streams from hundreds of sensors and assist process engineers in monitoring and control of process equipment.
Experience transitioning engineering processes into manufacturing is highly desirable.
Must be able to lead a project team and maintain a project schedule, be a self-starter, detailed-oriented and have exceptional organizational skills.
High level of personal energy; strong work ethic.
Demonstrated safety-oriented mindset.
Ability to communicate clearly in English.
