Overview
Jackola Engineering & Architecture in Vancouver, Washington is seeking a talented and experienced Civil Engineer with a PE License to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, clients, contractors, public agencies, and vendors to bring exceptional designs to life. Projects include subdivision, storm/sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement/concrete design systems.
Site visits and client meetings may require occasional travel to ensure seamless project execution and strong relationships.
- Independently lead and mentor Civil design staff throughout the project design and construction phases.
- Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions.
- Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of civil and site design concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with public agencies, external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers.
- Understand government regulations and potential environmental hazards in our region, including Land Use Applications and the Stormwater Management Manual for local jurisdictions.
- Ensure complete civil designs meet jurisdictional and company Quality standards.
- Use various software packages to evaluate and design site grading, sewer/stormwater/water supply systems, and related systems.
- Respond to contractors during the construction.
- Engage in business development, helping create proposals and prepare for interviews, and presenting creative solutions to prospective clients while assisting with scheduling and breaking down construction costs.
- Civil Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- 4+ years of relevant design experience with civil design.
- Strong understanding of related design concepts and jurisdictional requirements.
- Organized and able to handle multiple tasks at a time.
- Self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team.
- Outstanding organization, attention to detail, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and provide mentorship to junior staff.
- Ability to prioritize strategically and demonstrate flexibility to achieve long-range goals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Civil 3D.
