Northwest Transit Planning Practice Lead
Join HDR as a Regional Transit Planning Practice Leader to drive strategic transit solutions across the United States.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with HDR’s Transit Planning Practice Leader to identify practice strategy and emerging market opportunities.
- Coordinate regional market analysis and develop region‑specific products to meet client needs.
- Present regional transit planning activities and needs on regular practice group calls.
- Lead technical development of transit planning staff in policy, systems/network, corridor, operations/safety, funding, and multimodal modes.
- Identify market opportunities, develop winning pursuit strategies, and work with business development leaders.
- Identify industry talent, attract and retain transit planning staff.
- Serve as a project manager for major transit projects, delivering quality work on time and exceeding expectations.
- Represent HDR at state and regional professional organizations.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline (required).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant transit planning experience.
- Experience developing and implementing strategic plans for team building, skills development, and/or business development.
- Master’s degree in Planning, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
- Professional registration such as AICP, PE, PTOE, PTP, PMP preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience with transportation planning.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Understanding of transit planning principles.
- Positive attitude, ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel.
- Solid business development skills; ability to relate well to clients; presentation skills.
