About the Role

Responsible for the active management of the asset/liability position of the credit union, supported by recommending strategies for current and future products. Managing the investment portfolio under the direction of the CFO.

Responsibilities
  • Provide people leadership that inspires enthusiasm and accountability and drives our mission.
  • Key player in ad hoc analysis of various aspects of the credit union operations, including strategic overarching analysis such as market footprint and prioritization assessments.
  • Collaborate with business intelligence and others as a key data steward, especially as it pertains to membership, balance sheet, and profit.
  • Manage assigned vendors, including completing vendor due diligence, annual reviews, and approvals of invoices to ensure billing follows contractual agreements.
  • Develop and manage a cash flow system to insure operational and member liquidity needs are met without excessive liquidity.
  • Maintain investment portfolio under the direction of the CFO according to policies and procedures; explore investment opportunities for increasing the return on investments while meeting asset/liability goals.
  • Serve as liaison with regulators as appropriate.
  • Member of Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO) and its Loan and Deposit Pricing sub‑committees; oversee monthly and quarterly ALCO analysis, present findings, and recommend strategies.
  • Key player in development of products, services, and processes; follow through on opportunities to increase revenue and improve engagement through product offerings consistent with Columbia’s deposit, loan, investment, and income strategies.
  • Establish and supervise maintenance of organization, product and member profitability systems; present findings and recommend strategies.
  • Participate in Change Management meetings, review internal and external content for accuracy, and monitor changes in deposit rates and fee schedule.
  • Coordinate with VP Director Commercial & Business Services regarding business/commercial deposit‑related content and pricing approvals.
