EHS / HSE Manager, Occupational Health & Safety
We are supporting a long-standing manufacturing client that is hiring an EHS Manager to lead environmental, health, and safety initiatives across multiple facilities. This is a hands‑on, highly visible role responsible for elevating safety culture, driving compliance, and partnering with site leaders to implement and sustain best‑in‑class EHS programs.
This role is remote with significant travel across west coast sites. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, with a range of $110K–$140K.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Lead and continuously improve EHS programs across multiple manufacturing facilities in the region
- Develop and promote a strong safety culture through site visits, coaching, and relationship‑building
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, and state agencies)
- Oversee EHS compliance audits, inspections, and corrective action plans
- Review and assess existing processes, procedures, and training, recommending and implementing improvements
- Manage and support environmental permitting and reporting requirements
- Provide general oversight of hazardous waste management, equipment inspections, and required certifications
- Maintain records related to training, workers’ compensation, OSHA logs, permits (air, hazardous waste, stormwater), and other EHS documentation
- Support and standardize safety‑related programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Emergency Action Plans, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, and SDS management
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, HR, operations, and site‑level stakeholders to remove obstacles and drive alignment across locations
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health or related field preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree for strong candidates
- 3+ years of EHS experience, ideally with multi‑site responsibility in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulations
- Ability to read, interpret, and manage environmental permitting requirements
- Experience managing or supporting workers’ compensation and incident/claim processes
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a lean team while collaborating effectively across all levels of the organization
- Excellent communication, influencing, and relationship‑building skills
- Comfort with frequent travel (approximately 50%) across regional locations
- Experience with EHS or safety software
- CSP, CHMM, or other relevant certifications are preferred but not required
