Job Title Direct Support Professional

Core Function Provide direct support to individuals in activities of daily living.

Responsibilities

• Assist supported individuals with personal care, medication administration, activities of daily living (ADL's), and support toward achieving their Skills Programs/Goals, meal preparation, household tasks, and finance management in accordance with VCI standards.
• Build and maintain positive relationships through active engagement and safe community access.
• Adhere to all VCI policies, procedures, and protocols; complete required training and continuing education.
• Maintain positive relationships with coworkers and leadership; uphold zero‑tolerance policy for bullying, harassment, and gossip.
• Complete all required documentation and shift‑change reports.
• Ensure all certifications (CPR/FA, NAR/C.N.A./HCA, etc.) remain current.
• Attend mandatory meetings, trainings, and agency events.

Time/Hourly Commitment This is a full‑time position, minimum 30 hours per week; shift structure does not guarantee 40‑hour weeks. Shift times:
Beginning of Week (Sunday‑Wednesday, 8.5‑10 hours per day), End of Week (Thursday‑Saturday, 10‑12.5 hours per day).

Physical Demands

• Sitting, standing, walking; occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
• Frequent household and yard maintenance tasks including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, window cleaning.
• Facilitating transfers of up to 200 lbs. safely with another staff member when required.

Van Care, Inc. reserves the right to reassign any staff member to another location without advance notice, based on the needs of the agency and the Individuals served.

All staff are required to remain awake during all shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; no prior experience required.
• Must hold current CPR/FA, NAR/C.N.A./HCA, or equivalent certifications.
• Ability to meet VCI policies, training requirements, and physical demands.

Wage Range $21.00 – $23.50 per hour
