POSITION TITLE: Mental Health Professional Non-Exempt Position
RESPONSIBLE TO : Vice President of Clinical Services
POSITION SUMMARYThe Embedded Mental Health Professional (MHP) works under the supervision of the Lifeline Connections Program Director or clinical supervisor, as applicable, and is embedded within Supervised Probation, Probation Services, Clark County District Court. The position provides accessible, timely behavioral health support to individuals under supervision and serves as a clinical bridge between probation, Lifeline Connections, and the community behavioral health provider network.
The MHP works collaboratively with probation staff while maintaining appropriate clinical boundaries, patient confidentiality, and compliance with applicable state and federal requirements.
- Review and follow applicable Washington Administrative Codes (WACs), Revised Codes of Washington (RCWs), federal regulations, agency policies, and confidentiality requirements governing behavioral health services.
- Provide brief, patient-centered behavioral health screening, assessment, intervention, and clinical support to individuals referred through Supervised Probation.
- Identify behavioral health symptoms, functional needs, and other barriers that may interfere with treatment engagement, stability, or successful participation in supervision.
- Assess for safety and clinical risk and coordinate an appropriate response or referral when urgent or emergent behavioral health needs are identified.
- Engage individuals using trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, strength-based, and person-centered approaches that respect individual choice and dignity.
- Recommend appropriate mental health, substance use disorder, co-occurring, crisis, medication, peer, case management, and other supportive services based on identified needs.
- Facilitate warm handoffs and assist individuals in navigating and accessing Lifeline Connections programs and other community behavioral health providers.
- Provide brief individual interventions, psychoeducation, problem solving, care coordination, and case management within the scope of the embedded service model.
- Provide consultation to probation officers regarding behavioral health barriers, engagement strategies, available resources, and treatment-system navigation while protecting confidential patient information.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Supervised Probation staff, court partners, Lifeline Connections programs, crisis services, and the local behavioral health provider network.
