Network Engineer

A client in the PNW is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team! This is a direct hire permanent role that would be 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. The technology stack you would be working with include, but not limited to:
Palo Alto Firewalls, Palo Alto Switches, F5 Load balancers, Ubiquity networking gear, Microsoft DHCP, hybrid Azure Environment, and more. In this role you will work with an in house team but also work with an outsourced partner for data center work. The work in this role will be 30% support and 70% project work. The top skills we are looking for is someone who has a passion for Networking and has experience within the technology stack.

• Learn the environment and assess existing firewall policies
• Identify opportunities for rule cleanup and optimization

• Understand F5 traffic routing and certificate management
• Review and improve WAF configurations

• Provide recommendations for network scalability
• Become a trusted resource for network strategy and architecture

Drive improvements rather than simply responding to tickets

• 3+ years of Network Engineering experience (strong mid-level engineer)
• 3+ years of experience managing and administering firewalls, preferably Palo Alto
• 3+ years of experience with load balancers (F5 preferred, but open to NGINX, Netscaler, or similar)
• 3+years of experience with Ubiquiti for Networking
• Strong networking fundamentals including:
  • Routing
  • VLANs
  • Network security
  • Firewall policy management
  • Traffic flow analysis
• Experience supporting or implementing Web Application Firewalls (WAF)
• Ability to analyze existing network environments and recommend improvements
• Comfortable working in a mid-sized environment with less structure and more autonomy
• Local candidate who can support a hybrid schedule (3+ days onsite)
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Genuine interest/passion for networking
