Recovery Café of Clark County (RCCC) is looking for someone to join our team as Executive Director. RCCC is a non‑profit and part of a national network of similar Cafés serving men and women who have suffered trauma, houselessness, addiction and/or other mental health challenges. In a Café setting of Radical Hospitality members experience belonging, healing, and the joy of contributing to a nurturing community that specifically acknowledges addiction and mental health challenges.

this Role

The Executive Director’s primary responsibility is to see the Recovery Café of Clark County fulfill, sustain and further its mission. The person for this position will operate under the authority of the organization’s Board of Directors and in close consultation with four other RCCC Directors and the rest of the organization’s Leadership team. Other responsibilities include communication, management, finances, personnel, strategic development, and leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and intensively with the Board, staff, organizational partners (volunteers, donors, grantors, in‑kind contributors), and the community at large.
  • Ensure that all resources are appropriately deployed, necessary decisions are made, issues are resolved and responsibilities are understood and carried out.
  • Monitor program activities and performance and ensure full regulatory and legal compliance in all operations.
  • Coordinate the raising of RCCC funding, including collaboration and writing of grant proposals, contract implementation, and budgets.
  • Propose an annual budget to the Board; clearly communicating the objectives, initiatives and assumptions of the budget.
  • Conduct financial operations within the parameters of the budget approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the organization’s ongoing financial sustainability including collaboration with the fiscal team in monitoring and evaluating operating budgets, expenditures, and overall fiscal performance of RCCC.
  • Support the Board in their strategic planning, organizational assessment and evaluation, annual audit, fund development and other Board‑authorized activities.
  • Represent the organization and the Board before funding agencies, partners and other community organizations.
  • Ensure the implementation of organization’s goals and plans and continually refine and improve operations while meeting measurable goals and objectives.
  • Oversee personnel functions—including recruiting, selecting, guiding, managing, evaluating, holding staff and volunteers accountable and handling retention/termination of employees and volunteers.
  • Provide employees with position descriptions and performance‑rating tools and processes.
  • Manage, mentor, and supervise direct reports, providing ongoing support and feedback, formally evaluating annual performance, and addressing performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Set guidelines for employee schedules and wage/salary reviews.
  • Lead by example, cultivate a healthy community within RCCC and challenge the organization to carry out the mission and always abide by the principals and practices established through the Recovery Café Network (RCN).
  • Develop and maintain a strong management team who are responsible for operating each of RCCC programs.
  • Collaborate with RCCC leadership team while delegating responsibilities and installing effective administrative functions across programs.
  • Oversee special projects and perform other duties as needed to fulfill the goals and objectives of the organization.
Qualifications
  • BA in Public Administration, Health Services Administration, Communication, or related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ progressively responsible experience in planning, supervision, and management within a nonprofit or human services organization – strongly preferred.
  • Skilled in financial management as well as experience with grant writing, successful fundraising and development initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in strategic planning and implementation and strong ability to make decisions.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
