Operations Manager, Freight Brokerage

Run the brokerage desk at our Vancouver, Washington headquarters. You will lead our sales reps and carrier sales reps day to day, report to Skyline's leadership, and work alongside our own fleet, warehouse and 24/7 dispatch.

Skyline Transport Group is a family-owned, asset-based carrier and freight brokerage. Since 2004 we have run our own fleet of more than 150 tractors and trailers, hauling reefer, flatbed and dry van in all 48 states, with offices in Vancouver WA, Sacramento CA and Austin TX.

• Lead the brokerage team. Manage our sales reps, carrier sales reps and the rest of the desk: set priorities, coach, and hold the standard on every load.
• Own the process. Write and keep current the SOPs the desk runs on: tender to delivery, exception handling, carrier onboarding and claims.
• Own the numbers. Define the KPIs for sales and operations, build the reporting, and review the results with leadership every week.
• Hire and train. Interview candidates, build the onboarding path, and get new reps productive faster than the last one.
• Connect brokerage and fleet. Work with our dispatch and fleet teams so every load gets covered and delivered to the same standard.

• Three or more years in freight brokerage or 3PL operations, at a brokerage or 3PL rather than asset carrier operations alone.
• You have built or rewritten an SOP that a team followed.
• You are comfortable owning the numbers in front of leadership every week.
• You live in or near Vancouver, WA, or are ready to, and you are authorized to work in the United States.

Full-time and on-site at our Vancouver, Washington office. Base salary plus commission. We promote from within, and this seat is part of our operations leadership.
