Salary Range

$81,000 – $93,000

Position Summary

As a member of Project Controls Department, this position will assist the Work Package Development/Planning Manager with the following:

  • Creating and Integrating
  • Monitoring and Maintaining
  • Estimating and Forecasting
  • Presenting and Documentation to support the Planning department’s production schedules.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities
  • Create and manage all required process steps to complete a Work package lifecycle.
  • Simplify and format to improve readability for inexperienced laborers, craftsmen, and/or supervisors.
  • Assist project team members and subcontractors in PERT planning process to develop and integrate schedule.
  • Study production sequence and logic ties, and optimize production performance.
  • Participate with production management team to develop budgets and resource‑and‑cost‑load schedule activities.
  • Solicit and input weekly progress updates.
  • Produce schedule reports in support of departmental progressing.
  • Incorporate scope changes and other changes to project Work packages, analyze and report time/labor impacts.
  • Works with internal and external resources to resolve conflicts, problems, and coordinate schedules.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to maintain continuous improvements.

Education and/Or Experience

High School Diploma or GED Certificate is required. AA degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

Work is conducted in a dynamic, fast‑paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels from production activity in the shipyard. 80% normal office environment; 20% of time spent in production areas in yard and aboard ships. The individual may be required to be in production areas in yard and onboard ships, walk to job sites, climb stairways, enter confined areas and tanks, work at heights, and work more than 8‑hour shifts and weekend work.

Local and out‑of‑town travel up to 5% of the time with notice may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Work Environment

While in production areas, the individual will be exposed to all weather conditions, noise, dust, and odors. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
