Production Planner – Electronics Manufacturing Services
Production Planner responsible for coordinating production schedules to ensure on‑time customer deliveries while maximizing production efficiency. Reports to the Supply Chain Manager and works cross‑functionally with Operations, Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Manufacturing to align capacity, material availability, and demand.
Principal Accountabilities- Schedule all areas to ensure on‑time deliveries at the highest possible production efficiency.
- Provide clear definition of production demand to plant leadership for manning purposes.
- Participate in the development of detailed, achievable production schedules and report performance.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate production through affected areas such as inventory control, manufacturing, and project management.
- Work closely with Sales, Operations, and Purchasing to meet customer demand and support sales goals, inventory control, and capacity forecasting.
- Coordinate the acquisition of materials and components to support a clean, ready‑to‑build production floor.
- Serve as the main point of contact for commitment dates.
- Communicate proactively with affected internal customers as issues occur.
- Identify root causes of scheduling problems and correct them.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and productivity.
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in planning and scheduling, preferably in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Minimum three (3) years using an Epicor ERP system or four (4) years using an integrated MRP/ERP system.
- Understanding of master scheduling and forecasting processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to support effective correspondence with internal and external customers.
- Ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple tasks to completion.
- Ability to interact with various internal departments.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and implement effective solutions.
- Proficiency using MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
