Job Description
The Assembler prepares and organizes component kits for production by pulling parts from inventory, creating wire assemblies using automated crimping and stripping equipment, and delivering completed kits to designated production workstations. This role supports control panel and other electrical system builds by ensuring accurate, timely, and well-organized kitting of mechanical and electrical components.
ResponsibilitiesReview part list sheets to identify required components and materials for each production order.
Pull and kit groups of parts from inventory according to part list sheets and production requirements.
Operate automated wire stripping and crimping machines to produce wire assemblies for use in control panel building and other electrical systems.
Verify that wire assemblies meet specified lengths, terminations, and quality standards before adding them to kits.
Organize and label finished kits clearly by production order to ensure easy identification and traceability.
Deliver completed and organized kits to the appropriate production workstations in a timely manner.
Work closely with production and technical staff to clarify part requirements and resolve basic kitting or assembly questions.
Read and interpret basic schematics and blueprints to understand component layout and wiring needs, as applicable.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area, ensuring tools, equipment, and materials are stored properly.
Follow established safety procedures when working with mechanical and electrical components and automated equipment.
Assist in basic mechanical and electrical assembly tasks as needed to support production schedules.
Communicate any inventory discrepancies, missing parts, or equipment issues to the appropriate team members.
Experience in assembly or kitting work in a mechanical or electrical environment.
Ability to operate automated wire stripping and crimping machines to produce consistent wire assemblies.
Basic understanding of electrical assemblies and wiring used in control panels and other electrical systems.
Ability to read and follow part list sheets accurately to pull correct components from inventory.
Familiarity with interpreting basic schematics and blueprints for mechanical or electrical assemblies.
Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate kitting and proper organization of components.
Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and small components.
Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment and communicate clearly with team members.
Skills & Qualifications
Any prior experience working with control panels is a plus.
Component-level experience or wiring experience is a plus.
Exposure to mechanical assembly or electrical assembly environments is beneficial.
Willingness to perform basic, foundational tasks and learn more advanced technical skills over time.
Interest in growing into more technical roles as responsibilities expand.
Ability to learn from high-level technicians and apply feedback to improve skills.
