This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 12/10/25.
A valid First Aid/CPR card must be submitted to Classified Personnel within 45 days of hire. Only courses with a hands-on component taught by a certified instructor are acceptable.

Salary placement:
New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. Prior years of service may receive experience credit toward salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT: The Procedures Nurse is delegated by school nurses and is responsible for performing clean intermittent catheterization (CIC) and diabetic care for students with disabilities, as well as administering tube feedings or suctioning when necessary. The Procedures Nurse also performs other health-related activities as requested by the Registered Nurses and will travel to several sites each day.
Essential Functions- Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and medical personnel both orally and in writing.
- Perform medical procedures as required by the health care plan of the district, RN, and doctors’ orders.
- Administer medications and tube feedings.
- Perform health-related activities as assigned.
- Accurately establish and maintain student health records for procedures and health plans.
- Maintain professional license and adhere to best practice standards.
- Travel from location to location to assist students with the above health issues.
- Perform emergency care if necessary for students on caseload.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment as specified by health goals and outcomes.
- Implement behavioral management strategies to address problematic student behaviors impeding timely procedures.
- Handle body fluids per standard precautions.
- Lift and/or position students as necessary.
- Attend trainings to maintain up-to-date understanding of policies, procedures, and laws.
- Perform first aid/CPR when necessary.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Tools and Equipment Necessary: Sterile and clean catheters, feeding tubes, and other tools/equipment needed to perform essential functions.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Current Washington State LPN or RN license.
- Meet Washington State HIV/AIDS education requirements for health care providers.
- Demonstrated ability in catheterization, tube feedings, and suctioning.
- Knowledge of diabetic care including insulin pumps and carb counting.
- Pediatrics experience desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to acquire within 45 days of employment.
- Effective communication with students, parents, staff, and medical personnel.
- Ability to travel between locations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
