About the Role:

The Resident Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily operations and overall management of residential properties within the real estate and rental leasing industry. This position ensures that properties are maintained to high standards, tenants' needs are addressed promptly, and all activities comply with fair housing laws and company policies. The Resident Manager is responsible for coordinating maintenance, managing lease agreements, and conducting final inspections to uphold property value and tenant satisfaction.

Additionally, this role involves budgeting and financial reporting to optimize property performance and support strategic decision-making. Ultimately, the Resident Manager acts as the primary point of contact between property owners, tenants, and service providers, fostering a safe, well-maintained, and financially sound living environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in property management or a related real estate role.
  • Strong knowledge of fair housing laws and regulations.
  • Experience with lease agreements and tenant relations.
  • Basic budgeting and financial reporting skills.
  • Ability to conduct property inspections and manage maintenance activities.
  • Supervise, coach and support on-site staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced skills in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with real estate software and property management systems, App Folio preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of residential properties, including tenant relations and site management.
  • Ensure compliance with fair housing laws and company policies in all leasing and tenant interactions.
  • Coordinate landscaping, maintenance, and repair activities to maintain property aesthetics and functionality.
  • Conduct final inspections of units to ensure readiness for new tenants and adherence to quality standards.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and generate financial reports to track property performance.
  • Oversee lease agreements, including renewals, terminations, and enforcement of lease terms.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between property owners, tenants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Implement strategies to maximize occupancy rates and tenant retention.

The required skills are essential for effectively managing the multifaceted responsibilities of the Resident Manager role. Property management expertise enables the candidate to oversee tenant relations, maintenance, and site operations efficiently. Knowledge of fair housing laws ensures compliance and fosters equitable treatment of all residents.
