Hourly Rate$23.53 per hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Complies with all craft and shipyard safety and environmental measures.
- Responsible for planning one’s own work tasks.
- Tests equipment as applicable.
- Uses hand and power tools safely and properly.
- Works from project specifications and applicable drawings and blueprints.
- Ensures compliance with project standards, policies and procedures.
- Communicates with other shift personnel to maintain efficient workflow.
- Performs similar work in all Yard areas as needed.
- Communicates effectively and works independently or in a group.
- Basic math skills: add, subtract, divide, multiply.
- Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English.
- Demonstrates knowledge of AC and DC electrical theory.
- Understands power generation, control and distribution.
- Uses test equipment.
- Reads, interprets and lays out drawings.
- Products and controls electric motors.
- Performs grounding and bonding.
- Identifies cable sizes and ampacity limits.
- Fabricates and installs cable transits, conduit and raceways.
- Bends conduit.
- Installs interior communications and alarms.
- Rationally reasons and finds solutions.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Work history or applicable education may be considered in lieu of work experience.
- Complete on‑the‑job training as needed per project.
- Continual standing, walking and use of fine motor skills for tools and machinery.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 lbs.; may require assistance with heavy equipment.
- Occupational occasional twisting, turning, bending, climbing and walking over uneven surfaces.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip and climb.
- Work mostly indoors, possibly exposed to external weather conditions.
- Use of safety equipment as required.
- Depth perception and near‑acuity vision required.
- Work occurs inside a shop where machines run with varying noise levels.
- Exposure to chemicals, coolants, greases, solvents, petroleum and vapors/fumes is possible.
- Proper PPE will be provided as necessary.
Interaction and communication with others; works alone or independently; may direct or supervise others according to level of position; performs repetitive work; pays attention to detail; flexible and adaptable.
