TRAVEL POSITION – Robinson Brothers Construction, LLC is seeking skilled linemen to join our traveling crew. Contracts span the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast. Telecommunication Lineman will support all phases of utility construction for various telecom projects, performing general labor duties under the direction of the Foreman/Supervisor. Services include placing poles, anchors, guys, aerial strand and cable, direct buried pipe, trenching cable, conventional and directional boring, placing underground conduit systems, and performing inside wiring, cabling, testing, and maintenance services.

Travel is required for this position.

A successful Telecommunication Lineman must have knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, familiarity with a wide range of tools and equipment, ability to read and understand prints/maps, and knowledge of safety rules and operating instructions.

• Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes and weights of construction materials and equipment.
• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable.
• Safely use hand tools and equipment such as wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more.
• Safely operate mechanized equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, and more.
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers.
• Flag traffic when required.
• Understand separation and clearance regulations.
• Open to working aloft using climbing hooks and ladders.
• Flexible to work in multiple locations.
• Travel is a must.

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain the required license.
• Good driving record is required.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and equipment and ability to use them safely.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License is required.
• Effective communication skills with customers and employees.
• Willing and able to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft up to 40 feet.
• Able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed.
• MUST BE WILLING TO TRAVEL.

• Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunication industry.
• Ability to perform all duties in telecommunications construction such as pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction.
• Willingness and ability to travel.

This is a full-time hourly position, expected to work at least 40 hours per week. The job is outdoors and exposes the employee to extreme cold, rain, sleet, snow, humidity, high temperatures, high wind, and loud noise. The employee must stand for long periods (up to 12 hours), tolerate extreme weather, lift 50 lbs regularly, and perform climbing, kneeling, reaching, and crawling.
