Assembly Mechanic III – 516 – Day Shift [3/12s]
Join us at Vigor Marine Group. We are an established, innovative marine maintenance and modernization partner serving the U.S. Navy, Army, and other defense and maritime sectors. Our Vancouver, Washington site is a modern facility featuring the largest floating dry dock in the western hemisphere.
Hourly Rate: $32.35
Work Schedule: Friday through Sunday, 5:00 AM – 6:00 PM (3/12s)
Position Summary: We are seeking qualified assembly mechanics to install integrated system components—engines, drives, HVAC systems, fuel, hydraulic, fire suppression, and more. Desired backgrounds include mechanics and millwrights with marine repair, maintenance, or new construction experience, or in manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, farm equipment, or similar industries requiring high mechanical aptitude.
Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
- Installation of integrated system components including engines, drives, HVAC, fuel, hydraulic systems, fire suppression, and others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have own set of tools.
- Hydraulics and piping experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with machining is a plus.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
- Capable of carefully following engineering drawings and procedures to perform equipment installations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
Education and/or
Experience:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience.
- High school diploma or GED required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift, carry 60 lbs., or maneuver objects; difficult objects may be assisted by mechanical means or additional manpower.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, kneel, twist, pull, push, grip, and climb.
- Capability to work from ladders and scaffolding.
Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required (government contract).
