Hourly Rate
$32.19
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Comply with all shipyard safety and environmental measures.
• Plan and execute tasks independently or as part of a multi‑craft crew.
• Test equipment and maintain hand and power tools.
• Work from project specifications, working drawings, and blueprints.
• Follow project standards, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate with shift personnel to ensure efficient workflow.
• Perform similar work across the yard as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Effective communication and independent or group work.
• Basic math and English proficiency.
• AC and DC electrical theory, power generation, control, and distribution.
• Test equipment use, cable identification, conduit bending, and layout.
• Electric motors, controls, grounding, bonding, and cable transit fabrication.
• Reasoning and solution‑finding.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Two years of relevant work experience.
• Work history or applicable education in lieu of experience.
Physical Demands
• Stand, walk, and use fine motor skills for tools and machinery.
• Lift up to 60 lbs; occasional heavy equipment assistance.
• Twist, turn, bend, climb, and walk over uneven surfaces.
• Work indoors with possible weather exposure.
Work Environment
• Shop with continuous machine operation and noise.
• Possible use of chemicals, greases, solvents, petroleum, and vapors.
• PPE will be provided as necessary.
Citizenship and Background
US citizenship is required. Prospective employees must pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
