• Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete driver's checklist in Fleetio.
• Load and unload equipment safely using a second person and secure equipment on trailers.
• Practice safe driving skills in all operating conditions, including the  4 second rule , following all vehicular safety regulations and consistently using spotters.
• Recognize mechanical issues (engine, brakes, electrical) as they develop, shut down and secure the machine to avoid further damage, and report maintenance needed to the Superintendent, Foreman, or Shop Foreman.
• Ensure material is loaded safely and efficiently (not overweight, no debris) and transport it to job sites and/or plants.
• Follow GPS directions to reach job sites and material sources promptly.
• Spread and dump gravel efficiently; spot truck into paver and place material as directed.
• Perform non-driving, general labor duties as needed or directed.
• Provide materials' tickets to the Foreman daily so that work can be completed.
• Maintain a clean truck, including spraying down trailers when needed and practicing good housekeeping on all equipment.
• Ensure truck is fueled each night.
• Follow all safety rules and regulations, practice preventive safety measures, and wear required PPE.

• Must have a CDL Class

• Knowledge and ability to use GPS devices.
• Follow all DOT requirements and traffic regulations.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work weekends and occasional nights.
• Ability to travel to various worksites.
• Ability to work long hours and in all weather conditions.

Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check required.

• Pursuant to the FMCSA, all new CDL Drivers will be subject to the full queries of the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse database to ensure they are not prohibited from performing safety-sensitive functions due to prior drug or alcohol violations.
• All new CDL Driver Hires must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and consent to AA Asphalting reviewing their Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse record.
