Job Title
Junior Technician – Daifuku
OverviewAssists technicians with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges.
Responsibilities- Assist with basic maintenance assignments, including preventive, routine, and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams, shift inspections, cleaning, and electrical and mechanical adjustments.
- Diagnose equipment failures under senior guidance and ensure equipment runs safely.
- Takes direction, seeks guidance and expertise of senior personnel, and accepts training and mentoring.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions.
- Work in tight and/or high spaces using appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures; complete all applicable training courses assigned by the company.
- Complete work‑assigned forms according to established procedures.
- Perform additional duties or assignments as required by management.
- Assist technicians with sweeping, cleaning, and greasing tasks.
- Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company.
- Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Minimum 1 year of previous mechanical experience, 1 year of BHS or PBB experience, or ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
- Ability to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
- Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
- Must be committed to working safely while accomplishing all tasks and promoting a safe work environment at all times.
- Previous work experience in an airport environment.
- Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Company’s insurance policy.
- Must comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy.
- Stand, walk, sit, and handle/ting finger frequently; climb/balance, crawl, squat or stoop, bend or kneel, and balance functions are performed frequently or occasionally as listed by weight ranges.
- Push/pull activities are performed from 33% to 66% of the time for 2.5–5.5+ hours per day.
Works under the Airport Terminal conditions that may contain dust, dirt, and continual noise below OSHA’s action level.
