Locate Technicians are responsible for accurately locating underground facilities including telephone communication lines, electric power lines, cable television lines, gas lines, fiber optic lines, water lines, and sewer lines. The position ensures compliance with client and state requirements. Service duties include observing, locating, marking, and documenting underground and exposed utility locations using multiple methods. Technicians may work independently or as part of a team under a supervisor, and must focus, skill, and use machinery and tools to perform the job.

Additional duties:

• Dispatch to locate and verify utilities for customer
• Work in and walk over all types of terrain and weather conditions
• Interpret job order tickets, blueprints, and maps to route and perform duties efficiently
• Perform locates and emergency/on‑call locates during regular, overtime, and holiday hours as needed
• Communicate with management, contractors, utility customers to maintain a damage‑free environment
• Use company vehicle, laptop, smartphone, and personal protective equipment
• Work in a supervised team environment when required

• High School Diploma or equivalency (GED)
• State‑issued driver’s license
• Background check with no violations in the last 5 years
• DOT drug test passed
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to read, interpret, and decipher multiple types of prints
• Experience with vacuum truck (A+)
• Ability to lift over 50 lbs
• Ability to walk/stand for multiple hours a day
• Excellent communication skills
• Pass a background screening
