Industrial Maintenance Technician (Electrical and Mechanical)
This role focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting industrial electrical and mechanical systems in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment. You will work primarily on reactive maintenance, diagnosing issues on production equipment and restoring operations safely and efficiently, while supporting a dedicated preventive maintenance team.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical systems ranging from 24V DC up to 480V, including identifying faults and performing safe rewiring as needed.
- Diagnose and repair issues on 480V circuits, ensuring proper operation of power distribution to production equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot variable frequency drives (VFDs) and drive control systems, including performing repairs and adjustments to optimize performance.
- Perform PLC troubleshooting to support automated equipment, including identifying control issues and collaborating with others to implement corrective actions.
- Use Ethernet-based tools and systems to support troubleshooting of networked equipment and controls.
- Perform industrial mechanical maintenance on production machinery, including inspection, adjustment, and replacement of mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders, and associated components.
- Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic systems, including air lines, valves, actuators, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and pneumatic diagrams to diagnose and resolve equipment issues.
- Support maintenance of plastics production equipment, such as extrusion machines, palletizers, wrappers, grinders, and conveyors, by identifying and resolving mechanical and electrical problems.
- Access and maintain supply cabinets and components for electrical systems from 24V DC to 480V, ensuring proper selection and installation of parts.
- Collaborate with the dedicated preventive maintenance team by providing feedback on recurring issues and suggesting improvements.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support ongoing reliability and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience with industrial 480V electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Hands-on industrial mechanical maintenance experience on production equipment.
- Strong knowledge of low-voltage and high-voltage systems from 24V to 480V.
- Experience with PLC troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding on industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and pneumatic diagrams.
- Practical experience working with 24V480V electrical systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining hydraulic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining pneumatic systems.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with plastics production maintenance, particularly extrusion equipment, is a strong plus.
- Additional PLC troubleshooting skills, including working with various control platforms, are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and related industrial systems beyond basic troubleshooting.
- Ability to interpret and work from detailed blueprints, schematics, and pneumatic drawings with minimal supervision.
- Schooling or formal education in robotics and automation is a significant advantage.
- Experience working with Ethernet-based industrial control networks is beneficial.
