Chemical Process Operator – Industrial Oil Decontamination and Regeneration

Sanexen is seeking a Chemical Process Operator for its Varennes installations.

Job Description

The Chemical Process Operator plays an essential role in the treatment, decontamination, and regeneration of industrial oils and contaminated fluids. In an industrial environment focused on performance and environmental protection, the incumbent ensures the safe and optimal operation of treatment units while monitoring process parameters, quality standards, and strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. The role directly contributes to operational reliability and continuous process improvement.

Main responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor treatment and regeneration units for industrial oils and contaminated fluids;
  • Monitor process parameters using control and instrumentation systems;
  • Perform routine inspections of equipment (pumps, filters, separators, tanks, etc.);
  • Adjust operational parameters to optimize process performance and quality;
  • Participate in equipment start-up, shutdown, and securing procedures;
  • Take samples and perform quality control tests on treated products;
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability;
  • Strictly apply health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Qualifications required

Sought Profile

  • Experience in an industrial, chemical, or fluid treatment environment;
  • Training in industrial processes, chemistry, mechanics, or instrumentation;
  • Strong interest in industrial processes, applied chemistry, and environmental issues;
  • Comfort working with industrial equipment and control systems;
  • Ability to analyze situations and solve technical problems;
  • Interest in mechanics, instrumentation, and production environments;
  • Team spirit, rigor, autonomy, and sense of responsibility;
  • Availability to work evening shifts;
  • Motivation to grow in a dynamic industrial environment focused on environmental performance.

Assets

  • Knowledge of control and automation systems;
  • Experience in continuous production or manufacturing environments;
  • Training in health and safety (WHMIS, TDG, or equivalent);
  • Experience with pumping, filtration, or industrial fluid separation equipment.
