Job Title: Revenue Associate
Reports To: Supervisor, Revenue
Department: Property Accounting
We are looking for someone who is dedicated and committed to providing accurate and timely banking and tenant payment recording, as well as other administrative support services.
Responsibilities:- Daily bank deposit of cash receipts including tenant rent cheques received by mail, post‑dated rent cheques and other cash receipts;
- Accurately record and reconcile tenant rent payments (including Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) and Pre‑Authorized Debit (PAD), and other payment methods in accounting system daily;
- Prepare and analyze detailed reports on tenant rent payments and cash deposits, along with thorough reconciliations;
- Create and modify tenant PAD forms ensuring all necessary documentation and authorizations are in order;
- Maintain precise and organized records for all cash receipts to support transparency and accountability;
- Perform additional ad‑hoc duties and special projects as needed to support team and organizational goals.
- Completion of college or university degree preferably in a field that emphasizes analytical skills such as Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business.
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in handling commercial tenant rent payments (post‑dated cheques, electronic funds transfer, pre‑authorized deposit etc.) with basic understanding of accounting principles;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (experience with Yardi is a plus);
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with a strong customer service orientation for internal and external stakeholders;
- A team player with a positive attitude, demonstrating strong work ethics and a growth mindset by seeing new information and constructive challenges;
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy, coupled with the ability to prioritize workload independently and work with minimal supervision.
The Revenue Associate shall conduct him/herself in a respectful and ethical manner in representing the Trust’s interests. The Revenue Associate shall demonstrate entrepreneurialism and behave like an “owner” in carrying out daily tasks and responsibilities, demonstrating creativity and resourcefulness in achieving desired results. The Revenue Associate must take accountability for decisions made and the Revenue Associate is expected to be a team player and work effectively with colleagues and associates in terms of input, sharing of ideas and working to achieve common goal.
The expected base pay range is: $57,000-$66,000. The base pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. Smart Centres values the contribution of our Associates, and our individual salaries may vary based on the geographical location of successful candidates, as well as their experience, qualifications or skills.
