Tax Accountant

Salary Range: $70,000 to $100,000
Location:
In Office | Greater Vaughan Area

A well established and growing public accounting firm in the Greater Vaughan area is looking to add a Tax Accountant to its expanding tax team. This is a strong opportunity for a tax focused professional who enjoys hands on work, exposure to a diverse client base, and long term growth within public practice.

The Opportunity

This role will support senior tax professionals and managers across a broad range of tax engagements. The successful candidate will be involved in both compliance and advisory work, with opportunities to grow their technical skills and take on increasing responsibility over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review personal, corporate, and trust tax returns including T1, T2, and T3

• Prepare GST HST and other information returns

• Assist with CRA elections, objections, and correspondence

• Review CRA notices and statements of account

• Communicate directly with clients and the CRA on tax related matters

• Support tax planning and advisory engagements for individuals and businesses

• Maintain current knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and compliance requirements

• Collaborate with team members to meet filing deadlines and client expectations

Qualifications

• CPA designation required

• Enrollment in the CPA In Depth Tax Program with Level 1 completed

• Two to three years of public accounting experience with a tax focus

• Strong knowledge of Canadian income tax and CRA procedures

• Experience with Tax Prep, Profile, Case Ware, and related tax software

• Strong communication and client service skills

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
