Best Way Stone is expanding its Accounting team and is seeking an Accounting Manager (Manufacturing/Costing) to join our Woodbridge location. This newly created role focuses on financial reporting, manufacturing cost accounting, inventory management, process improvement and supporting the continued development of the Accounting Department.
Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, the Accounting Manager will play a key role in supporting the Accounting Department and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial information. This position will work closely with members of the accounting team and operational leaders while supporting financial reporting, manufacturing costs, inventory management and process improvement initiatives.
What You Bring:- Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2‑3 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous leadership, team lead or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Experience with inventory accounting, standard costing, variance analysis and work‑in‑process accounting.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general accounting principles, and month‑end close processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong overall computer proficiency.
- Experience working with ERP systems;
Sage 300 experience is considered an asset. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Maintains accurate financial reporting and month‑end close processes.
- Meets deadlines while managing multiple priorities.
- Uses financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities and process improvements.
- Collaborates effectively with operations and accounting teams.
- Supports team development and accountability.
- Takes ownership and looks for ways to improve processes and add value.
- Lead month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close activities.
- Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports.
- Maintain accounting controls, procedures and reporting accuracy.
- Oversee inventory accounting, work‑in‑process, cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Manage standard costing and analyze manufacturing cost variances.
- Review production, inventory, and cost data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Provide inventory, cost, margin, and profitability analysis to support business decisions.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning and financial analysis.
- Review accounts payable, accounts receivable and billing processes.
- Provide guidance, support and technical leadership to members of the accounting team.
- Assist with ERP systems, reporting tools and process improvements.
- Assist with additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Follow company health and safety policies and procedures.
