Our client in York Region, ON is actively seeking an Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated, career-driven professional who is eager to learn and grow within a successful organization.
Position

Description:

Prepare full note disclosure financial statements and supporting working papers on an annual basis

Prepare accruals, prepaids, and amortization journal entries on a quarterly basis

AP/AR processing

Loan Statements

Perform partnership reporting and assist with consolidated financial statements

Respond to documentation and explanation requests from external auditors

Maintain and post journal entries accurately and efficiently

Utilize advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, financial modeling) for reporting and analysis

Support other business needs within the Finance group as required

Perform general accounting and financial reporting tasks

Skills &

Qualifications:

years of relevant accounting experience

SAGE is an ASSET

Post Secondary Education in Business or Accounting

Pursuing CPA designation (Asset)

Proficient in Excel with advanced skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, financial modeling)

System-savvy with a strong understanding of ERP systems (Newstar considered an asset)

Excellent communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative accounting team

A true go-getter and self-starter who takes initiative and is eager to grow - this individual will go far within the company
