Senior Accountant

My client is a well‑respected, multi‑disciplinary accounting firm that is actively searching for a Senior Accountant to join their growing team.

In this role you will advance your career by working on a variety of accounting disciplines, including audit, review engagements, notice to readers, compilations and tax, in a friendly, team‑oriented workplace. The position is in‑office and located in Vaughan.

• 3+ years of experience in a public accounting environment with owner‑managed companies using ASPE.
• PECPA designation is an asset.
• Experience completing audit, compilations, review engagements and notice to readers.
• Experience with corporate and personal taxes and ability to prepare tax returns.
• Strong experience reviewing assurance files, including the tax return, with the ability to hand over to managers with minimal loose ends.
• Experience liaising with clients.
• Experience conducting research and reaching technical conclusions.
• Strong knowledge of Caseware, MS Office (Excel and Word) and Taxprep.
• Ability to work as part of a qualified team and lead others in a team environment.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
• Ability to recognize accounting and tax issues and work with the team to resolve any issues that arise.
• Ability to solve problems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills for prioritizing demands and meeting deadlines.
