Position OverviewThe firm is seeking a Bookkeeper to join their dynamic accounting and finance team. Working collaboratively as part of a supportive accounting group, this role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day legal accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in bookkeeping, a sharp eye for detail, and a collaborative mindset to thrive alongside fellow accounting team members in a fast-paced environment.

- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping:
Execute full-cycle legal accounting duties, from file opening and daily transaction processing (AP/AR, disbursements, and trust entries) through to general ledger maintenance and month-end bank reconciliations. - Trust & General Accounting:
Assist with processing daily trust and general bank transactions, including deposits, wire transfers, EFTs, and client disbursements. - Billing & Collections:
Manage the full-cycle billing process, including finalizing invoices, and monitoring accounts receivable. - LSO Compliance Support:
Maintain accurate financial records in strict accordance with Law Society of Ontario (LSO) rules. - Financial Reporting:
Prepare monthly financial statements and provide regular reports. - Payroll & Benefits:
Assist with the administration of payroll and employee benefits as required.
- Strong Attention to Detail:
Ensures accuracy in financial records and bank reconciliations to maintain firm compliance. - Financial Integrity:
Demonstrates the highest level of honesty and discretion when handling sensitive financial data. - Organizational Efficiency:
Capable of managing financial deadlines and priorities without sacrificing quality. - Proactive Problem Solving:
Ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies quickly and efficiently.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Bookkeeper
- Proficient in PC Law (or similar legal accounting software) and
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
