  • Scope of the Position

    The Buyer is responsible for reviewing purchase requisitions and fulfilling the requirements of orders as well as maintaining inventory levels and reordering stock as needed. The Buyer will be required to research and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best possible prices. They will also be responsible for staying informed of the current market conditions/ product.

    Major Responsibilities

  • Follow purchasing policies and help set objectives and strategies for purchasing process. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive prices and terms.
  • Ensure regular ordering based on management-approved targets.
  • Adjust stock levels to account for seasonality and monitor market trends for new products.
  • Keep company records and financial information confidential.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing, rebates, and supplier agreements.
  • Develop product specifications that meet quality and company standards.
  • Set and manage inventory levels to achieve desired turnover rates.
  • Order stock and special items, expediting when necessary.
  • Update purchase pricing as needed and manage returns or disposal of obsolete, overstocked, or slow-moving products.
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 years Buying experience or 2 years’ experience plus a knowledge of the electrical product range
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel and Outlook is a MUST.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills
