Estimator, Construction, Building & Residential Construction

Our client is a well-established General Contractor specializing in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) and highrise construction projects related to electical and mechanical elements. They are seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in Vaughan. This is an onsite opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong estimating experience in complex construction environments.

Candidates with both electrical and mechanical estimating experience will be considered a strong asset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project drawings and specifications, analyzing subcontractor quotations, and supporting the pre-construction process. The ideal candidate will have experience estimating electrical and/or mechanical systems within commercial, high-rise, or institutional construction projects.

• Prepare detailed estimates for ICI construction projects from drawings, specifications, and bid documents
• Review plans, drawings, and technical specifications to identify project requirements and costs
• Perform quantity take-offs and cost analysis for electrical and/or mechanical systems
• Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams during the bidding process
• Maintain accurate estimating records and support successful project handovers
• Assist with value engineering opportunities and cost-saving recommendations

• 3+ years of estimating experience within ICI construction environments
• Strong experience with commercial, high-rise, and/or institutional projects
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Trimble, Accubid, Bid Winner, or similar estimating platforms
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project requirements

Candidates must have experience estimating one or more of the following systems:

• Electrical equipment and related installations

• HVAC systems
• Plumbing systems
• Elevators and related mechanical systems

Candidates with both electrical and mechanical estimating experience will be considered a strong asset.
